UK-Based musician Tyno wekwaKanda praises President Mnangagwa

UK-based Zimbabwean musician Tynos Kandawasvika, popularly known as Tyno wekwaKanda, has commended President Emmerson Mnangagwa for what he says are visible developments under the Second Republic.

In an interview with The Harare Post, Tyno said the President is a “God-given leader” and encouraged citizens to support national leadership through prayer and unity.

“I often remind people of 1 Timothy 2:1-2, which says prayers should be made for kings and all those in authority so that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness,” he said.

“President Mnangagwa is a leader appointed for this nation’s path to revival,” he said.

Tyno said from his base in the United Kingdom, he has witnessed positive changes in Zimbabwe, particularly in infrastructure development and economic stabilisation.

“Only a few rogue activists who thrive on soiling our country’s image pretend not to see the positive changes happening all around,” he said.

The artist, who left Zimbabwe during the economic challenges of the First Republic, said the current stability is encouraging him to consider returning home.

“I left Zimbabwe because of the hyperinflation chaos, but the current stability makes me plan on returning home soon,” he said.

Identifying as a pan-Africanist, Tyno also expressed his support for the ruling ZANU PF party, adding that his music promotes unity and resilience.

“My music speaks to the people, strengthening them during hard times and reminding them of hope,” he said.

As President Mnangagwa’s 83rd birthday approaches, Tyno extended his best wishes to the Head of State.

“May the Lord continue to bless and guide our leader as this nation moves forward,” he said.

Tyno’s comments reflect a growing confidence among some diaspora Zimbabweans about the country’s prospects under the current administration.
