Gweru, Sept 22, 2025 – What started as a quiet weekend in Southdowns exploded into chaos when hidden secrets came to light.
Tendai Chamisa stormed into a room where his girlfriend, MSU final year student Thabiso, was caught in a scandalous moment with Lovejoy Chibaya.
Neighbours were horrified to find Thabiso and Chibaya drenched in blood, their wounds deep and savage-flesh torn, knife marks carved brutally across their bodies. Pools of dark blood stained the floor as they struggled to breathe, their screams of agony haunting the quiet streets of Southdowns.
Eyewitness Gerald Moyo heard two piercing screams of one female, and one male, followed by agonized cries. “I rushed out to find both Thabiso and Chibaya bleeding badly, calling for help,” he said.
Netsai Chiwara who stays at the same house said she saw the terrifying scene through a window: “There was shouting, banging, and then Chamisa with a knife. It was like watching a nightmare unfold.”
In a sudden frenzy, Chamisa stabbed both Chibaya and Thabiso before escaping the scene. Neighbours rushed the injured to Gweru General Hospital, where they now fight for their lives.
Efforts to get official communication from the Zimbabwe Republic Police proved fruitless.
