MP Kudakwashe Manhanzva’s Swift Action Rescues Over 7,000 Families From Evictions in Zvimba East

Zvimba East, Zimbabwe – Over 7,000 families facing sudden eviction due to major infrastructure projects are now reassured of safe resettlement, thanks to the prompt intervention of Honourable Kudakwashe Manhanzva, the Member of Parliament for Zvimba East constituency.

Communities were at risk from new infrastructure development projects taking shape near the New Parliament in Mt Hampden, the expansion of Charles Prince Airport, the Cyber City project, and the establishment of an industrial park by Wildale.

Speaking to this publication, Hon. Manhanzva said, “No one in Zvimba East will be left homeless or forced onto the streets. Our caring ZANU PF-led government is fully committed to ensuring every affected family is resettled in safe and dignified conditions.”

He expressed gratitude to President Emmerson Mnangagwa for his responsiveness: “President Mnangagwa listens and acts on the people’s concerns. After my intervention in Parliament, the government swiftly deployed a team to assess the situation and manage an orderly resettlement process.”

The community now awaits guidance from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Resettlement, tasked by Minister Dr. Anxious Masuka to coordinate how families will be relocated.

Voices from the ground show relief and hope. Namatai Musonza, a former farm worker, shared, “We had nowhere to go and feared losing everything, but Hon. Manhanzva’s quick action has given us hope and reassurance.”

Jevas Katondo added, “The MP saved us from disaster with his timely efforts and genuine care.”
