The Mutare Magistrates Court has convicted Carrington Mutasa, a 19 year old man of bestiality, sentencing him to 8 months imprisonment of which 3 months were suspended for 5 years and the remaining 5 months suspended on condition of 175 hours of community service.
On 16 September 2025, around 1730 hours, the offender entered the homestead of the victim at Piki Village, Chief Zimunya, in Mutare. Finding no one at home, the offender unlawfully entered the victim’s fowl run, grabbed a hen and engaged in sexual activity with the hen.
After the act, the offender was seen leaving the fowl run by the victim’s granddaughter. The granddaughter informed the victim of what she had seen, the victim inspected her fowl run and discovered that the hen had a large hole on its cloaca area.
The victim informed her neighbours about the incident, and together they apprehended the offender. The offender confessed to having sexual intercourse with the hen. A report was made at Zimunya Police Post.
