Headmaster Marshall Masango Transforms Gokwe`s Magede Primary School

In the heart of Gokwe-Kana constituency, Magede Primary School is undergoing a remarkable transformation under the dedicated leadership of Headmaster Marshall Masango.

Inspired by President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 agenda, which aims to leave no one or place behind, Masango is working tirelessly to bring modern facilities and opportunities to his learners and staff, putting the school on par with others across Zimbabwe.

“We want Magede Primary to be a leading example of what Zimbabwean schools can achieve when given the right support,” says Masango.

“Vision 2030 inspires us to modernize, leave no one behind and to build a future where every learner has the chance to succeed,” he added.

One of the landmark achievements is the drilling of a solar-powered borehole, securing a reliable supply of clean water that greatly benefits students and teachers alike. “Clean water is a basic right, and with this borehole, we ensure our learners stay healthy and focused,” Masango stresses.

In a bid to boost both administration and learning environments, the school’s administration and ICT blocks donated by local legislator, Honourable Minister Owen Ncube have been fully electrified. “The support from Hon. Ncube has been invaluable. Electrification has transformed our school into a tech-ready campus,” Masango explains.

Adding to this digital advancement, the school received 12 laptops from the Minister of Information Communication Technology and Courier Services, Hon. Tatenda Mavetera and Hon. Ncube, giving learners valuable access to modern technology. “Digital skills are crucial in today’s world, and these laptops open doors for our children,” he notes.

Learning conditions are further enhanced with renovated classroom floors funded by $1,080 from the School Development Committee (SDC).

A new teacher’s cottage is under construction, supported by the SDC, helping attract and retain quality educators. “Our teachers are the backbone of this school, and providing decent housing shows we value them,” Masango emphasizes.

Inclusivity remains a priority. “No learner should be left behind because of fees. Those who cannot pay contribute through labour, ensuring equal opportunity,” Masango says.

With the recent launch of www.magedeprimary.com, the school is improving communication with parents and the larger community.

“Magede Primary’s growth reflects our national goals. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for Zimbabwe,” Headmaster Masango concludes
