Zanu-PF begins accreditation for 22nd  Annual People’s Conference

Zanu-PF has commenced the accreditation of delegates ahead of its 22nd  Annual National People’s Conference, set to be held from October 13 to 18 at the Mutare Polytechnic Pavilion Grounds in Manicaland Province.

The Conference, which will be held under the theme “Attainment of Vision 2030 through Economic Empowerment and Value Addition,” will bring together Party leadership, delegates from across the provinces, war veterans, and representatives from the Women’s and Youth Leagues.

In an interview yesterday, Zanu-PF spokesperson Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa confirmed that accreditation began on Monday, describing the conference as an important occasion to reflect on the party’s progress and consolidate the mandate given by the electorate in 2023.

“The Conference is not just a routine event. It is a critical platform to evaluate how far we have come in delivering on the promises made to the people of Zimbabwe. His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, has methodically addressed resolutions passed at the last conference in Bulawayo. We are seeing a leader who listens and who acts,” he said.

Mutsvangwa added that this year’s event would be more focused and streamlined, with a leaner number of delegates.

“It is about quality over quantity. We want serious engagement on key issues such as economic revival, industrialisation, and youth empowerment. This is in line with our Vision 2030 targets,” he said.

He also noted the importance of unity and discipline within party ranks as Zimbabwe continues its journey of transformation under the Second Republic.

“This is a moment for us to reflect on our ideological grounding and push forward with unity, peace, and development. We are a revolutionary party with a developmental agenda. The President has set the tone, and we are all following through.”

Manicaland Provincial Chairperson Cde Tawanda Mukodza said preparations were at an advanced stage.

“We are honoured to host the Conference. Mutare is ready. We are mobilising resources and ensuring that logistics, security, and accommodation are all in place,” he said.

The Conference will begin with Politburo and Central Committee meetings in Harare before moving to the main venue in Mutare. Delegates will deliberate on economic strategies, party policy, and the implementation of resolutions from previous conferences.

The Conference will reaffirm the Party’s commitment to unity, peace, and development and will serve as a platform to strengthen the foundations of the country’s development agenda under the Second Republic.
