Business as Usual in Zimbabwe Despite Protest Calls by Geza

It is business as usual across Zimbabwe today despite protest calls by political activist Tapiwa Geza, whose attempts to incite unrest have been ignored by citizens determined to maintain peace and focus on their daily livelihoods.

A visit to major towns and cities including Harare, Bulawayo, Mutare and Gweru showed that shops, schools, government offices and transport services are operating normally. Citizens have dismissed Geza’s calls as baseless and disruptive, saying Zimbabweans are more focused on development, work and family responsibilities than on divisive agendas.

In Harare’s central business district, the atmosphere remains calm, with commuters and vendors conducting their activities as usual.

“We are focused on our work. No one has time for someone shouting online trying to cause confusion. People have realised that peace is more important than politics that brings no food to the table,” said a kombi driver, Tawanda Moyo

Shop owners also confirmed normal trading throughout the morning.

“My shop opened at 8am and customers have been coming in as always. Those protest calls are just talk meant to create panic, but Zimbabweans are wiser now. We want progress, not chaos,” said Ms. Rumbidzai Mhlanga, a grocery shop owner in Mbare.

In Bulawayo, vendors at Egodini terminus echoed the same sentiments, saying citizens no longer respond to calls that threaten national peace.

“We are here to work, not to listen to people who don’t care about our daily survival.Zimbabweans are choosing stability over empty promises,” said a fruit vendor,

Public transport operators also confirmed that all routes were running smoothly.

“Buses and kombis are moving freely, passengers are going to work, and schools are open,” said a conductor operating between Mzilikazi and the city centre.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Republic Police have maintained a strong presence in major areas, assuring citizens of continued peace and security.

Zimbabweans have largely remained calm and united, demonstrating resilience and a collective commitment to the country’s stability despite efforts by a few individuals to sow discord.
