Minister Mavetera applauds POTRAZ for clean Audits and digital connectivity milestones

The Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, Tatenda Mavetera, has commended the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) for its exemplary performance during the organisation’s 9th Annual General Meeting.

Speaking at the event, Minister Mavetera praised POTRAZ for achieving clean audits and making significant strides in expanding digital connectivity across the country. She highlighted the organisation’s role in promoting inclusive access to digital services as critical to Zimbabwe’s socio-economic transformation.

“POTRAZ continues to set the standard through accountability and innovation. These clean audits are not just numbers  they represent integrity, transparency, and a strong commitment to public service,” said Minister Mavetera .

She also extended congratulations to the POTRAZ Director General, Dr. Gift Machengete, who was recently named the Best Performing CEO. Minister Mavetera described the accolade as a testament to exceptional leadership and the effectiveness of collaborative teamwork within the organisation.

As Zimbabwe moves towards achieving its Vision 2030 goals Min Mavetera called on the POTRAZ Board and Management to remain focused on delivering people-centred services. She urged the sector to maintain a united front, guided by transparency and dedication to serving the nation.

“Digital transformation must leave no one behind. We must ensure that every Zimbabwean regardless of location or economic status  has access to affordable, fair, and high-quality digital services,” she said.

The Minister further challenged the ICT sector to drive innovation, promote integrity, and embrace inclusion as pillars for progress in the digital era.

The event marked yet another milestone in Zimbabwe’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its digital infrastructure and regulatory frameworks in line with regional and global standards.
