The National Youth Empowerment Strategy Symposium continues today with a strong focus on equipping young Zimbabweans with skills to start businesses and access funding and scholarships.
Deputy Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Hon. Kudakwashe Mupamhanga, said the Ministry is committed to addressing youth unemployment and drug abuse by providing practical empowerment opportunities.
“We are here to share with the youth how to start businesses. There are many opportunities available including funding and scholarships to help young people turn their ideas into reality,” Hon. Mupamhanga said.
The Ministry is also conducting follow-ups on previous beneficiaries of youth empowerment programmes to monitor their progress and impact on communities.
“It is important to track how those who benefited before are contributing to national development,” the Deputy Minister added.
Under the theme “Empower the Youth, Secure the Future,” the symposium has attracted youth from across the country and serves as a key platform to share information on entrepreneurship, vocational training, and business opportunities.
Representatives from government departments, financial institutions, and development partners are engaging directly with participants, offering advice and support for aspiring young entrepreneurs.
The symposium features exhibitions, workshops, and panel discussions aimed at fostering innovation and sustainable livelihoods among the youth. The event will run through the week.
