Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has appointed four of the nation’s great players as its new ambassadors, aiming to harness their star power for football development and global visibility.
The impressive lineup, confirmed by ZIFA in a statement, includes legendary figures such as former Warriors captains Peter Ndlovu and Benjani Mwaruwari, alongside ex-Liverpool and national team goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar and former Mighty Warriors captain Nomsa Moyo.
The move is a significant step by ZIFA to connect the current football administration with the history and success of Zimbabwean football.
“The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is proud to announce the appointment of four initiative celebrates their outstanding contribution to the beautiful game and entrusts them with representing Zimbabwean football on the global stage. As Ambassadors, they will serve as role models and advocates inspiring the next generation, promoting football development, and showcasing Zimbabwe’s football story to the world.”
ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi added his perspective on the significance of the chosen icons noting that
“Peter, Bruce, Benjani, and Nomsa are symbols of what is possible when talent meets dedication and national pride. We are truly honoured to have them represent our football family.”
