More than 185 people have been arrested for poaching in the first nine months of 2025, as the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) intensifies its crackdown on wildlife crimes and efforts to safeguard the country’s endangered species and natural heritage.
The arrests underscore ZimParks’ ongoing commitment to preserving Zimbabwe’s rich biodiversity amid increasing threats from illegal hunting and wildlife trafficking.
Authorities say the operation forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen law enforcement, enhance surveillance, and promote community involvement in conservation initiatives.
ZimParks continues to collaborate with security agencies and conservation partners to ensure stricter protection of national parks and game reserves across the country.
