President Hichilema set for landmark visit to Harare

Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema is set to visit Harare for the inaugural Zimbabwe–Zambia Bi-National Commission (BNC), which will run from 12 to 14 November 2025 at the Rainbow Towers.

President Hichilema will be hosted by President Emmerson D. Mnangagwa on 14 November, in what is expected to mark a new milestone in the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two neighbouring nations.

The visit follows a series of Senior Officials’ and Ministerial Meetings, scheduled for 12 and 13 November, where both delegations will review and consolidate agreements in trade, infrastructure, energy, and regional integration.

The Bi-National Commission represents a significant elevation of Zimbabwe–Zambia relations, shifting from traditional Joint Permanent Commissions to a broader platform for high-level political, economic, and diplomatic engagement.

Officials say the BNC will lay the groundwork for enhanced collaboration in investment, border management, tourism development, and transport connectivity, reinforcing the shared vision of sustainable growth and regional stability.

The inaugural session comes at a time both countries are prioritising economic transformation and industrialisation, positioning the Zimbabwe–Zambia partnership as a model of Southern African cooperation and mutual development.
