Pres Mnangagwa rewards 69 citizens at Legacy Empowerment Awards

President Mnangagwa yesterday honoured 69 Zimbabweans for their outstanding contributions to national development, attaching festive season monetary benefits to their awards.

Speaking while officiating the 5th Legacy Empowerment Awards ceremony yesterday on behalf of the President, Special Presidential Advisor , Dr Tungwarara said the honourees had demonstrated unwavering commitment to uplifting their communities and advancing the national vision of a prosperous Zimbabwe.

“It was my distinct honour to officiate the 5th Legacy Empowerment Awards ceremony on behalf of His Excellency.

This prestigious event, held under the banner of national development and inclusive empowerment, celebrated the outstanding contributions of 69 exemplary individuals who have demonstrated unwavering commitment to uplifting their communities,”he said

Dr Tungwarara said President Mnangagwa had deliberately attached festive season monetary benefits to the awards as a way of reinforcing his dedication to citizen empowerment.

“In recognition of their efforts, His Excellency graciously attached festive season monetary benefits to these awards, reaffirming his dedication to empowering citizens,” he said.

He also delivered a special message of appreciation to Legacy TV Executive Director Cde Pardon Mangwende, whom the President honoured with a Ford Everest for his leadership and support to national programmes.

“President Mnangagwa extended a special gesture of appreciation to Cde Pardon Mangwende for his visionary leadership and steadfast support of national initiatives

The Ford Everest is symbolic of the journey we continue to take together toward national transformation,” ,” Dr Tungwarara said.

He emphasised that the event should serve as a reminder that the country’s empowerment drive is rooted in collective effort.

“Let this occasion remind us that the legacy of empowerment is not built in isolation, but through collective action, visionary leadership, and the tireless efforts of patriotic Zimbabweans,” he said.

Dr Tungwarara congratulated the recipients on behalf of the President and urged them to remain committed to excellence as the nation pushes forward with its development agenda. “Together, we build. Together, we rise,” he said.

Yesterday’s ceremony marked the fifth edition of the Legacy Empowerment Awards, which celebrate citizens contributing meaningfully to socio-economic upliftment across the country.
