Econet launches E-novate Expo to drive Zimbabwe’s digital future

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe is set to stage one of the country’s largest technology event it seeks to position itself at the centre of Zimbabwe’s rapidly expanding digital economy.

The three-day Econet E-novate Expo, scheduled for 8 to 10 December 2025 at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC), will run under the theme “Future-Ready Tech Synergies.”

The event which is free to the public aims to turn Zimbabwe’s growing digital potential into tangible opportunities by giving businesses, students and innovators hands-on exposure to new technologies and direct access to industry experts.

“The Expo will combine a cutting-edge technology showcase with educational presentations and thought-provoking discussions led by some of the continent’s leading and upcoming voices in tech and innovation,” said Econet spokesperson.

“By bringing together tech leaders from across Africa, Econet hopes to highlight the emerging trends shaping the continent’s digital future and demonstrate how they can be adapted locally.”

Zimbabwe’s digital sector has been gaining momentum in recent years, driven by rising mobile connectivity, the growth of local tech startups and increasing interest in AI, cloud services and fintech solutions. Analysts say platforms like the E-novate Expo are essential for bridging the skills gap and accelerating innovation in emerging markets.

The programme features keynote addresses, hackathons, masterclasses, gaming competitions and youth-focused innovation challenges. Technologies such as AI, IoT, 5G and cloud services will be on display, giving visitors insight into how these tools can power new business models, streamline operations and improve service delivery.

A significant portion of the event is dedicated to young innovators, with students, developers and digital creatives expected to showcase prototypes and compete for mentorship opportunities.

Tech enthusiasts are also anticipating exclusive product demos and pilot technology presentations, as exhibitors unveil smart-home concepts, e-commerce tools and AI-driven business solutions tailored for African markets.

“With two business-focused days and one public day, we expect the event to attract dozens of corporates, startups, entrepreneurs, regulators, academics, tech investors, students and digital creators,” the company said.

As Zimbabwe works toward building a digitally empowered society, Econet says it envisions the E-novate Expo becoming a flagship annual event that promotes collaboration, skills development and long-term investment in the country’s tech ecosystem.
