Some Sanyati community members received an early Christmas after MP for the constituency, Hon Polite Kambamura, donated several groceries to village heads and some elderly members of his society.
Commenting on the gesture, Hon Kambamura said “This is a way of expressing the great love I have for our community – Sanyati. Christmas time, is time for sharing and giving, putting a smile on every face, especially among the most vulnerable”.
A local village head said the assistance had brought relief to many households that were facing difficult economic conditions. “This support has come at the right time. It shows leadership that is grounded in the community and responsive to our daily struggles,” he said.
One elderly woman expressed gratitude, saying the groceries had lifted a heavy burden from her family. “We were worried about how we would mark Christmas this year. This has brought happiness and dignity to us,” she said.
Another elderly beneficiary praised the MP for remembering the elderly. “Some leaders only appear during elections. Hon Kambamura continues to support us even after elections, and that gives us hope,” she said.
The gesture was widely described as a timely act of compassion that ensured Christmas arrived early for many families in Sanyati.
