ANOT 2026 draws thousands to HICC

Thousands of worshippers thronged the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC), on January 1, for A Night of Thanksgiving (ANOT) 2026, an annual gospel music event hosted by musician Janet Manyowa.

Held under the theme “Overflow,” the event brought together local and regional gospel artists in a day-long worship gathering that marked the beginning of the new year.

International acts included Nigeria’s Ada Ehi and South Africa’s Xolly Mncwango, while local performers featured Takesure Zamar Ncube, Everton Mlalazi, Baba na Mai Charamba, The Unveiled and the Joyful Praise Choir.

The organisers said the event continues to grow in stature, with improved sound, lighting and stage production placing it among the country’s leading gospel music gatherings.

ANOT 2026 also introduced ANOT Extended, an overnight worship session that started at 11pm and ran into the early hours of January 1. The session featured Robyn Mafadza, Oncemore Six and FIG Worship Culture, and was aimed at worshippers seeking extended prayer and praise.

Attendee Caroline Chiumburu said the event provided a meaningful start to the year. “The worship was powerful and well organised. It was a blessing to be part of such a gathering,” she said.

Another attendee, Loice Sibanda, described the overnight session as spiritually uplifting. “ANOT Extended was refreshing. Staying through the night was worth it,” she said.

The event was powered by Ecobank, with ticket prices ranging from US$20 for standard entry to US$100 for Golden Circle access. ANOT has become a regular fixture on Zimbabwe’s gospel calendar, with organisers saying it is meant to usher believers into the new year through thanksgiving and worship
