ZAOGA ushers in new leadership

ZAOGA Forward in Faith Ministries has ushered in a new era of leadership following the consecration of Dr Joseph Joe Guti as the new Archbishop of the Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (ZAOGA).

Dr Joe Guti succeeds the church’s founder, Dr Ezekiel Guti, who died in 2023. Prior to his elevation, he was serving as the Presiding Bishop of the church.

The consecration ceremony was held, yesterday, at the Africa Multination for Christ College (AMFIC), in Harare, and was presided over by Senior Archbishop, Professor Eunor Guti, assisted by two visiting archbishops from South Africa and Mozambique.

Church members described the appointment as a significant milestone in the life of the ministry, citing continuity, stability and faithfulness to the founding vision.

Loice Sibanda said the elevation of Archbishop Joe Guti symbolised a seamless continuation of the church’s mission.

“This is a powerful continuation of the vision laid by our father, Dr Ezekiel Guti. Archbishop Joseph Joe Guti is a humble servant of God who understands the heartbeat of ZAOGA and the calling of this ministry. We are confident that the church remains firmly grounded in its mission,” she said.

Another congregant, Ruvarashe Muku, said the appointment was a cause for celebration among members, noting that servant leadership remained a core value of the ministry.

“We are celebrating because God has raised a true servant leader. Archbishop Joseph Joe Guti has shown faithfulness, discipline and deep love for God’s people. This appointment assures us that the work of God will continue to grow across generations and nations,” she said.

During the same ceremony, ZAOGA Secretary General, Apostle Mishael Nyambo was elevated to the rank of bishop, further strengthening the church’s leadership structure.

The event took place on the sidelines of the ongoing Deeper Life Conference, which has drawn pastors from all 177 ZAOGA churches across six continents, underscoring the ministry’s global reach and continued growth.
