Zim counts down to Miss Universe finale

The race for the Miss Universe Zimbabwe crown has reached fever pitch, with public voting emerging as a decisive factor ahead of the grand finale set for June 6 in Harare.

With just days to go before five queens are crowned to represent Zimbabwe on major global stages, online support has surged dramatically. The event has quickly become one of the most closely followed beauty contests in recent years, capturing the attention of pageant fans across the country and in the diaspora.

A total of 18 finalists are vying for top honours, with winners set to carry the national flag at prestigious international pageants, including Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Cosmo, Miss International, and Miss Supranational.

As the countdown continues, supporters have intensified voting for their favourite contestants — a process organisers say could significantly shape the final outcome. The contestant with the highest public vote is guaranteed a spot among the top-ranking winners, adding to the excitement and pressure as the competition nears its climax.

Currently leading the online polls is Sindiso Ndlovu with over 8,000 votes. Close behind is Nicole Nyawera in second place, followed by Noma Mokoni in third. Malaika Mushandu sits in fourth position, Adele Chinamasa in fifth, while broadcaster Mona-Lisa Dube rounds off the top six as the battle for a top-10 finish tightens.

Organisers have also promised a glamorous finale packed with star power. South African media icon and Zozibini Tunzi, the former Miss Universe 2019 winner, will host the show. Adding to the sparkle, award-winning Zimbabwean musician Jah Prayzah is set to headline the evening’s performances.

All eyes will now turn to the Hippodrome on June 6 as Zimbabwe prepares to crown its next generation of queens who will represent the nation on the global pageantry stage.
