Gwanda-Tshitaudze Member of Parliament, Fanisani Moyo has urged residents to embrace unity and collective responsibility, saying communities can only achieve meaningful and sustainable development by working together.
Addressing residents during a two-day constituency outreach programme in Dwala and Zendere villages, Moyo stressed that cooperation was essential for accelerating development.
“I urge communities to work together because cooperation remains essential for sustained progress. while division can slow development efforts,” he said.
“We all have a responsibility to drive local development. When communities unite behind a common vision, it becomes easier to improve people’s lives through practical development projects,” he added.
During the outreach, Moyo assessed ongoing developmental initiatives while delivering financial and material support targeting education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, water access and community security.
In Dwala, women received US$1,000 to strengthen income-generating projects, while Dwala Primary School benefited from 200 kilogrammes of rice and US$200 towards its supplementary feeding programme. The school also received US$400 to procure lithium solar batteries and complete its solarisation programme.
Moyo also paid US$500 to the builder who assisted with constructing the Dwala classroom block, helping bring the project to completion.
In Zendere, the legislator toured the newly constructed Zendere Police Base, inspected progress on the new Zendere Clinic and assessed the Government-funded 15kV solar project.
He also visited a newly solarised borehole that he procured and equipped with solar panels to improve access to clean water.
Similar to Dwala, Women in Zendere received US$1,000 to support income-generating projects, while Zendere Primary School received 150 kilogrammes of rice together with US$200 for its supplementary feeding programme.
Moyo said the constituency would continue implementing practical projects that respond to community needs.
“Our commitment is to deliver practical development initiatives that improve the lives of our constituents while aligning with Government priorities,” he said.
He also encouraged residents to back the country’s economic transformation agenda.
“I urge residents to continue supporting the National Development Strategy 2 as Zimbabwe advances towards the Vision 2030 goal of becoming an upper-middle-income economy,” he said.
Moyo expressed appreciation to traditional leaders, Government departments, local authorities, development partners and community members for their continued collaboration.
“I appreciate the support of traditional leaders, Government departments, local authorities, development partners and community members whose collaboration continues to make constituency development projects possible,” he said.
