President Emmerson Mnangagwa will officially open this year’s Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS), this Friday, following a change in the programme.
Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Presidential Communications, George Charamba, confirmed the development in a post on his official X account.
Charamba said Namibian President, Dr Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, who had been invited as the Guest of Honour, would no longer attend the event due to unforeseen commitments in Namibia.
The Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, which is running under the theme “Powering Growth: Where Agriculture, Technology and Commerce Converge,” brings together farmers, agro-processors, businesses, technology companies and other stakeholders to showcase developments across the agricultural value chain.
President Mnangagwa’s opening of the show is expected to place renewed focus on Government’s efforts to drive agricultural transformation, value addition and the integration of technology into the sector.
