Mine Entra 2025 to spotlight mining–infrastructure synergy in driving Zim’s industrial transformation

The 28th  edition of the Mining, Engineering and Transport Expo (Mine Entra) opens in Bulawayo this Wednesday, setting the stage for a landmark collaboration between the mining and infrastructure sectors in accelerating Zimbabwe’s economic transformation.

Running concurrently with the Africa Infrastructure and Built Environment Confex (Africonfex), this year’s event brings together industry leaders, policymakers, investors, and innovators to explore synergies in value addition, beneficiation, and sustainable growth.

The twin exhibitions underscore a shared vision — that mining and infrastructure are not standalone pillars, but interconnected drivers of industrialisation and national development.

ZITF Company Chairperson, Dr Busisa Moyo, confirmed that the 2025 edition has drawn remarkable interest both locally and internationally, signalling renewed investor confidence in Zimbabwe’s economic trajectory.

“The event has attracted 240 exhibitors, including 16 international participants from four countries. The exhibitors span a wide range of sectors integral to the mining and built environment value chain. This convergence provides fertile ground for new partnerships, technology transfer, and innovation,” said Dr Moyo.

On the eve of the expo, exhibitors were putting final touches on their displays at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre, expressing optimism about the opportunities the platform presents.

“Preparations are going smoothly. We’re looking forward to an engaging showcase where people can learn how beneficiation can uplift both mining and infrastructure,” said one exhibitor.

Another participant added, “Everyone is geared up. This is our chance to show what Zimbabwean industry is capable of.”

The combined Mine Entra–Africonfex event is more than just an exhibition — it is a strategic dialogue platform aimed at linking extractive industries with infrastructure development to enhance competitiveness, employment creation, and sustainability.

With government policy now focused on value addition and beneficiation, this partnership-driven approach aligns with Vision 2030 goals of transforming Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy.

As the exhibitions open, all eyes will be on how industry players harness this momentum to build stronger, smarter, and more resilient value chains that propel national growth.

At its core, Mine Entra 2025 reaffirms that Zimbabwe’s path to industrialisation lies in synergy — where mining provides the foundation, and infrastructure builds the future.
