The gripping Castle Lager Premiership relegation battle — with as many as eight teams still in danger — will be decided on the final day of the 2025 season after a series of stalemates across the country kept the standings largely unchanged.
Only one match produced a winner on Matchday 33, as Triangle United hammered already-relegated Kwekwe United 4-0 at Gibbo Stadium. The rest of the fixtures ended in draws, ensuring that the relegation fight remains wide open heading into the last round.
At Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo, Manica Diamonds fought back to hold Highlanders to a 1-1 draw, while Bikita Minerals also shared the spoils with Simba Bhora after a hard-fought encounter at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare.
Elsewhere, ZPC Kariba and TelOne played out a goalless draw, while Dynamos and Yadah Stars could not be separated in a 1-1 stalemate. Ngezi Platinum and Chicken Inn also cancelled each other out in a match that ended 0-0.
The Eastern Region teams — Manica Diamonds, Bikita Minerals, GreenFuel, and Triangle — remain entangled in the relegation mix. Ironically, the decisive battles next weekend will pit them directly against one another, setting up a dramatic finale.
Manica Diamonds will host Bikita Minerals at Sakubva Stadium, while GreenFuel welcome Triangle to the GreenFuel Arena — fixtures that are poised to determine which sides survive and which will drop to the less glamorous Division One next season.
