Honourable Munyaradzi T Kashambe, the Member of Parliament for Seke, yesterday met ZANU PF Chairladies from across the constituency at Dema Council Offices, where he discussed community concerns and outlined ongoing development initiatives.
The meeting focused on challenges affecting households in Seke, with women leaders presenting feedback on service delivery, livelihoods and social welfare. Hon Kashambe said the engagement was part of his efforts to stay informed about community needs.
“Real leadership begins with listening. The voices of our Chairladys guide the work we must do for Seke,” he said.
A major point raised during the meeting was the empowerment of the girl child. Hon Kashambe urged community leaders to prioritise practical skills training for young girls, saying it was essential for long-term development.
“If we equip our girls with practical skills today, we secure the strength and prosperity of Seke tomorrow,” he said.
Hon Kashambe also advanced the poultry empowerment programme by distributing day-old chicks to women from the constituency. He made it clear that the initiative is part of His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Empowerment Projects, which were launched two months ago at the Harare International Conference Centre.
He emphasised that the programme is ongoing and not a once-off event.
“When we support women, we support families. These chicks are not just poultry, they are seeds of economic empowerment,” he said.
He added that he remained committed to ensuring that Presidential projects were fully implemented in Seke, noting that development must “be felt in every household.”
The meeting ended with women leaders expressing appreciation for the continued support and calling for more engagements to address emerging community issues.
