Zanu PF has set 31 January, 2026, as national cell verification day during which party members across the country will convene at cell level in an exercise aimed at strengthening grassroot structures and updating membership records.
In an interview, Zanu PF National Political Commissar, Munyaradzi Machacha, said the programme was critical in reinforcing the cell as the foundation of party organisation and mobilisation.
“The cell is the foundation of the party, and its effectiveness determines our strength as an organisation,” Machacha said. “This verification exercise ensures that our structures are active, organised and fully aligned with the party’s national vision.”
The exercise is being coordinated by the party’s commissariat department under the theme “Advancing vision 2030 through vibrant cell structures,” and is intended to enhance participation, accountability and ideological discipline at grassroots level.
Machacha said activities scheduled for the day include a membership roll call, verification of registered voters and awareness sessions on the party’s membership digitisation programme.
“Accurate and updated records allow the party to communicate effectively with its members and improve coordination across all levels,” he said. “Digitisation is key to modernising our systems and strengthening youth participation.”
Party members from various provinces also welcomed the initiative, saying it would improve transparency and engagement at cell level.
“This exercise helps us stay organised and ensures every member is accounted for,” said party member, Nkosinathi Moyo.
Zanu PF, again, urged all members, regardless of rank or position, to attend their respective cell meetings between 1100hrs and 1300hrs as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen grassroots organisation and advance national development objectives in line with Vision 2030.
