Zanu PF says Zimbabwe remains firmly on course to achieve Vision 2030 following Parliament’s passage of the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill, describing the development as a significant milestone in advancing the country’s long-term socio-economic transformation agenda.
Addressing a media briefing at the party headquarters in Harare, yesterday, Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa, said the passage of the Bill had brought clarity and stability, allowing the nation to focus on development.
He said the next step in the legislative process is for President Emmerson Mnangagwa to assent to the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill.
“The anxiety over the power transition of 2028 is now behind us as a country. All that is left is simply certainty and stability as the people have said they want President Emmerson Mnangagwa to continue with the good works that he has been doing. What is left is for the President to now assent to the Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill,” said Ambassador Mutsvangwa.
He added that the proposed constitutional changes would strengthen policy consistency and create a stable environment for the continued implementation of national development programmes.
The ruling party said the constitutional amendments are expected to reinforce Zimbabwe’s development trajectory and support ongoing efforts to attain an upper middle-income economy by 2030.
According to Zanu PF, the focus now shifts to accelerating the implementation of key socio-economic programmes under Vision 2030, with emphasis on sustaining economic growth, infrastructure development, improved public service delivery and inclusive national development.
