The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) has launched a nationwide onsite recruitment programme for its 2026 intake, taking admissions services to communities across Zimbabwe in a move aimed at expanding access to higher education.
In a public notice, NUST said the initiative is intended to bring its admissions services closer to prospective students, particularly those who face challenges travelling to the university’s Bulawayo campus.
“The recruitment teams will cover Lupane, Tsholotsho, Nkayi, Cross Dete, Hwange, Victoria Falls, Maphisa, Masvingo, Gweru, Beitbridge, Plumtree, Zvishavane, Kwekwe,” the university said.
The five-day outreach campaign, which runs from July 27 to 31, will see university admissions teams visit major towns, growth points and border centres to process applications and provide prospective students with information on academic programmes and admission requirements.
NUST encouraged female students to apply as part of ongoing efforts to increase women’s participation in science, technology and innovation-related disciplines.
Applicants who are unable to attend the onsite recruitment exercise can still apply online through the university’s Student Information System (SIS) portal.
The outreach programme forms part of NUST’s broader strategy to decentralise admission services, widen access to tertiary education and attract students from all parts of the country for the 2026 academic year.
