Chevrons Fall to South Africa in T20 Tri-Series

Windhoek, Namibia — August 30, 2026: Zimbabwe suffered a seven-wicket defeat to South Africa in the Namibia T20I Tri-Series at the Namibia Cricket Ground on Saturday.

Zimbabwe, after being sent in to bat, posted 144/8 in 20 overs. Brian Bennett top-scored with 34, while Tadiwanashe Marumani provided late fireworks with a quick 30 off 13 balls. South Africa’s Duan Jansen was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets.

In reply, South Africa chased down the target in just 13.4 overs, finishing on 146/3. Dewald Brevis was the star of the innings, smashing an unbeaten 75 from only 32 balls, including six sixes and seven fours.

The defeat leaves Zimbabwe needing a strong response in their next match as the tri-series continues, while South Africa bounced back impressively after their opening loss to Namibia.
