The Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) has appointed Allen Takudzwa Mavunga as the new Director General with effect from 1 June 2026, following approval by the Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Lt. Gen (Rtd) Ambassador Anselem Sanyatwe. The SRC says his appointment is expected to drive the commercialisation and sustainability of Zimbabwe’s sports sector in line with Vision 2030.
