Zimbabwe Warriors international Tawanda Maswanhise has been hailed by fans as a major attacking force following another impressive performance in the Scottish Premiership.
Building on his momentum, Maswanhise scored twice on Saturday to help Motherwell secure a win over Livingston, further cementing his reputation as a key player in the league.
As a result, the brace took Maswanhise’s league tally to 13 goals, extending his lead at the top of the scoring charts.
It also marked his fifth consecutive match on the scoresheet, underlining his consistent form this season.
Maswanhise’s performances have reignited debate over his limited role at the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Morocco last year, where he saw restricted game time during the group stage.
“We saw him at AFCON, and the signs were there. Going forward, he should be starting,” a soccer fan said.
“He is playing well and showing consistency. That is what the national team needs,” a football supporter said.
“With his current form, we hope he gets more minutes for Zimbabwe,” a Warriors’ supporter said.
Warriors coach Marian Marinica recently toured Europe to engage players eligible for national duty, with Maswanhise among those engaged.
With the 2027 AFCON qualifiers set to begin soon, the striker’s club form places him firmly among the key options as Zimbabwe prepares for the upcoming campaign.
