Popular Zimbabwean hip-hop musician Mukudzei Modecay Chitsama, popularly known as Holy Ten, has been arrested on allegations of raping a 14-year-old girl.
National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest on Tuesday, saying investigations are underway.
“Police have arrested local musician Mukudzei Modecay Chitsama, also known as Holy Ten, in connection with rape allegations involving a 14-year-old girl. More details will be released in due course as investigations progress,” Commissioner Nyathi said.
Police have not disclosed when or where the alleged offence occurred, citing ongoing investigations involving a minor.
The arrest has drawn widespread public attention owing to Holy Ten’s prominence in Zimbabwe’s music industry.
The musician is expected to appear in court once police complete their investigations and formal charges are preferred. Police authorities have promised to issue a comprehensive update once formal charges are lodged and investigations progress further.
