ZimTrade mobilises firms for COMESA business forum

ZimTrade has called on Zimbabwean businesses to take advantage of the 19th COMESA Business Forum and Exhibition to expand their regional markets, forge new commercial partnerships and connect with buyers and investors from across the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).

The regional business event will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre from October 19 to 21, 2026, bringing together businesses, investors and business leaders from across the region.

In its call to local companies yesterday, ZimTrade said, “The forum presents a major opportunity for Zimbabwean businesses to showcase their products and services while accessing regional markets.

We urge all companies to participate in the forum, as the event would provide an important platform for Zimbabwean businesses to engage directly with potential buyers, investors and business leaders from COMESA member states,”ZimTrade said.

The organisation said participation in the event would enable local businesses to position themselves within the wider regional market and identify opportunities for increased exports and investment.

“The forum is  important because it will allow Zimbabwean companies to broaden their markets beyond the domestic economy and take advantage of opportunities created by regional economic integration,”it said.

ZimTrade’s mobilisation comes as Zimbabwe continues to promote export-led growth, with businesses being encouraged to improve competitiveness, diversify products and explore markets beyond traditional destinations.

The forum is also expected to strengthen interaction between Zimbabwean producers and regional buyers, potentially creating new opportunities for companies in manufacturing, agriculture, mining-related value chains, services and other sectors.
