Veteran musician Thomas Mapfumo and his band, The Blacks Unlimited, have joined the nation in mourning businessman Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy Muteke and other victims of the Marondera helicopter crash.
In a statement, the Chimurenga music group extended its deepest condolences to the Chivayo family, their children, relatives and friends following the tragedy.
The group also expressed sympathy to the families of the other victims and prayed for strength and comfort during the difficult period of mourning.
Mapfumo and The Blacks Unlimited wished the deceased eternal peace while conveying their solidarity with the bereaved families.
The tragic deaths also resulted in the postponement of the wedding of musician Jah Prayzah and Rufaro Mukombe.
Despite the postponement, the Chimurenga Music Company said it remained committed to honouring its performance obligation at the wedding once a new date has been confirmed.
The group said it would await communication of the new wedding date before proceeding with its planned performance.
