President calls for discipline, and collective reponsibility in Zanu PF

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called for discipline, unity and collective responsibility within Zanu PF, urging Party members to follow the organisation’s principles and place collective interests above individual ambitions.

Addressing the Party’s 23rd National People’s Conference at Chinhoyi University of Technology in Mashonaland West, the President said leadership positions should be treated as opportunities to serve rather than platforms for personal recognition.

“Leadership positions are not for personal glory or publicity; we are here to serve,” he said.

The President underlined the  importance of discipline and adherence to the Party’s collective direction.

“Gwara reMusangano wedu, nezvido zve ruzhinji ndizvo zvinotaura mafambiro edu tose. MuZanu PF, hakuna mazvake-mazvake,” he said.

The President also urged members to move forward together, cautioning against divisions that could undermine collective progress.

“Famba nevamwe. Kwete kusara kumashure, kana kumhanya manhingi. Ngatifambei tose, step by step, brick by brick and stone upon stone, tichivaka Nyika yedu,” he said.

The President said differences within the Party should not become antagonistic, stressing that the Party Constitution and the broader national interest should guide members’ actions.

He also challenged delegates to ensure that conference resolutions respond to the realities facing Zimbabweans, offer practical solutions and establish clear responsibilities for implementation.

Meanwhile, the conference is being held under the theme, “From Resolutions to Results: Consolidating Economic Development and Deepening Empowerment towards Vision 2030.”
