Harare High Court Judge Justice Benjamin Chikowero has thrown out former Tourism and Hospitality Minister Walter Mzembi’s application for discharge at the close of the State’s case, ruling that he must answer to the charges laid against him.
Mzembi is accused of unlawfully donating four public-viewing screens worth US$200,000 to United Family International Church (UFIC), Prophetic Healing and Deliverance Ministries (PHD) and Zion Christian Church (ZCC).
The matter will now proceed to the defence stage, scheduled for 3 and 4 March.
