Marian Chombo Trust launches anti-drug campaign in Banket

The Marian Chombo Trust will on Friday launch an anti-drug awareness campaign in Banket as part of efforts to combat substance abuse among young people and promote safer, healthier communities.

The event, scheduled for 10am at Banket Shops, is expected to bring together community leaders, youths, parents and other stakeholders to discuss the growing challenge of drug and substance abuse and explore practical solutions to the problem.

Held under the theme, Choose Freedom, Say No to Drugs,” the campaign will focus on educating residents about the dangers of substance abuse, prevention strategies and available support systems for those affected.

Organisers say the initiative is designed to empower community members with knowledge and practical tools to help prevent drug abuse while protecting vulnerable youths from addiction.

The campaign will feature awareness talks, testimonies and community engagement sessions aimed at encouraging open dialogue and collective action against drug and substance abuse.

Drug and substance abuse continues to pose a significant threat to families, education and community development, making awareness and prevention efforts increasingly important.

Residents from Banket and surrounding areas are expected to attend the event, which organisers hope will strengthen community partnerships in the fight against drugs and contribute to building a healthier and more productive society.

The trust has invited members of the public to attend and participate in the discussions, saying community involvement is essential in addressing the growing drug abuse challenge.

With drug and substance abuse increasingly affecting families and communities across the country, the Marian Chombo Trust says the Banket campaign is part of a broader effort to promote prevention, encourage responsible choices among young people and build a united front against the growing threat of addiction.
