President Emmerson Mnangagwa has left for Mozambique to join President Daniel Chapo for the groundbreaking ceremony of the second phase of the 294km Beira-Feruka pipeline expansion.
The project will increase the pipeline’s pumping capacity from three million to five million cubic metres by 2027, strengthening fuel supply and regional energy security.
The expansion will run alongside the PetroZim pipeline project and improve fuel movement between Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Malawi and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The visit also highlights the strong bilateral ties between Zimbabwe and Mozambique, particularly in energy, infrastructure and regional economic integration.
Mnangagwa was seen off at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport by Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, service chiefs and senior Government officials.
