President Mnangagwa to cap 204 MSUAS graduates

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is today expected to preside over the fifth graduation ceremony of Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS) at its Fernhill Campus outside Mutare.

The President, who serves as Chancellor of Zimbabwe’s State universities, will confer degrees on 204 graduates during the ceremony, with outstanding students set to receive awards for their academic achievements.

The graduation is being held under the theme, “Empowered Graduates for a Technology-Driven Economy,” highlighting the institution’s focus on producing skilled graduates capable of contributing to Zimbabwe’s technology-driven economic development.

MSUAS offers programmes in Applied Sciences, Medical and Health Sciences, Mineral Sciences, Forestry Sciences, Agriculture Sciences, and Tourism and Hospitality.

The university’s academic programmes are anchored on contributing to sustainable economic development through the utilisation of Zimbabwe’s land and the value addition and beneficiation of the country’s natural resources.

The institution has positioned applied education, innovation and skills development as key components in preparing graduates to participate in various sectors of the economy.

The stage has been set for the graduation ceremony, with Cabinet ministers, senior Government officials, university staff and representatives from other higher learning institutions already gathered at the Fernhill Campus.

The ceremony is expected to provide an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the graduating students while highlighting the university’s contribution to skills development and national development.
