The Presidential Empowerment Fund has launched a nationwide borehole drilling programme aimed at improving access to clean water across all constituencies, beginning in Budiriro North.
In a statement, yesterday, the initiative said the programme is guided by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s development philosophy.
“Water is life. In line with President E.D. Mnangagwa’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind, we are drilling boreholes across constituencies without regard to political differences.
“This initiative demonstrates our commitment to development that transcends political boundaries and focuses on the well-being of all citizens,” the statement read.
According to the statement, the rollout has already commenced in Budiriro North Constituency.
“The process has already begun in Budiriro North Constituency, marking the start of a nationwide effort to ensure that every community has access to clean and safe water.
“The borehole drilling programme is expected to address persistent water challenges in both urban and rural areas, while also contributing to improved public health outcomes,” the statement added.
The programme is part of wider efforts to accelerate infrastructure development and improve service delivery across the country, in line with the Government’s vision of inclusive growth.
