Police in Mazowe have arrested six artisanal miners — Massive Tshabangu (23), Khathilile Moyo (22), Sengezo Sikongosana (19), Benard Ndlovu (22), Khangelani Ndlovu (25), and Prosper Mlilo (24) in connection with the brutal murder of Edmore Ndlovu (30).
The killing happened on 20 September 2025, at Masoja Tuck Shops, Gabeni Mine, Surtic Farm.
The suspects allegedly took turns attacking the victim with knives, logs, empty beer bottles, and stones for reasons not yet clear. Meanwhile, two others, Mengezi Ndlovu and Last Ndlovu, remain on the run as police continue their search.
It is a grim incident that has shocked the Mazowe community and raised concerns over violence among local artisanal miners. Authorities are investigating to uncover the motive behind this savage attack.
