Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea are holding their inaugural Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation (JPCC), a milestone engagement that follows the signing of agreements to establish the platform in 2023 during President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s visit to Malabo.
The JPCC will focus on expanding collaboration in key sectors including investment, road and air transport, agriculture, mining, fisheries, culture, tourism and energy. Officials from both nations say the platform marks a new era of structured and strategic cooperation.
Presidents Emmerson Mnangagwa and Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo are expected to preside over the signing ceremony that will conclude the inaugural session.
Their engagements will be preceded by Senior Officials’ and Ministerial meetings, which are expected to solidify and broaden the long-standing relations between Harare and Malabo.
