Poultry Project to Empower Mhangura Community

Mhangura, Zimbabwe—A new poultry project has been launched in the Mhangura Constituency, Mashonaland West Province, with a donation of 100 chicks to the Salvation Army Church aimed at empowering local women and fostering economic self-reliance.

The initiative, part of the larger Mukando women’s program championed by Member of Parliament and Minister of Health and Child Care, Hon. Douglas Mombeshora, aligns with President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s vision for collaboration between the church and the state.

The donation, facilitated by representatives of Hon. Mombeshora, including Makonde DCC Political Commissariat, Arch Ganizani, and other party officials, was officially handed over to Major Dinhidza of the Salvation Army.

This effort seeks to uplift families and strengthen community ties by providing a sustainable source of income and promoting a spirit of entrepreneurship.

The project is seen as a tangible example of how collective action is translating the government’s vision into tangible benefits for the community.
