A Business Interactive Meeting held at Maungwa High School, Teachers4ED Gutu District Chairperson (DC), Cde Svondo Tapera, publicly applauded Member of Parliament for Gutu South Constituency and Government Chief Whip, Honourable Pupurai Togarepi, for his unwavering support and contribution to education and development in the constituency.
Starting from its roots as a Zimbabwe Foundation for Education with Production (ZIMFEP) training group in 2021, Teachers4ED has blossomed, largely thanks to the backing of Hon Togarepi.
DC Tapera highlighted how the MP’s personal funds helped replace long-defunct ZESA transformers in schools, sponsored capacitation workshops, and enabled vital projects like piggery, fishery, and poultry in schools such as Chagwiza, Vumba, and Makore.
Hon Togarepi’s generosity extended to paying school levies and exam fees for vulnerable learners and supporting numerous scholarships. Under his leadership, new schools like Makonde Secondary were built, and all primary schools in Gutu South Constituency received textbooks and sports kits.
His initiatives even encompass community events like a Constituency and inter-constituency tournaments promoting unity and development.
Tapera pleaded with Honourable Togarepi to help Teachers4ED with funding for life-changing projects, land for residential and agricultural use, transport for monitoring programs, and office equipment like laptops and printers. He urged the community to complement these efforts by ensuring timely school fees payments.
