The National Pharmaceutical Company (NatPharm) has underscored its central role in strengthening Zimbabwe’s pharmaceutical supply chain and supporting healthcare delivery following a tour of its warehouse facilities by senior Government officials.
In a statement yesterday, NatPharm said Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube and Health and Child Care Minister Dr Douglas Mombeshora visited its warehouse facilities, where they were briefed on the company’s operations and contribution to the country’s healthcare system.
“Ministers Prof Mthuli Ncube and Dr Mombeshora today toured NatPharm’s warehouse facilities, led by Managing Director Natalie Madzikwa, appreciating the critical role NatPharm plays in strengthening Zimbabwe’s pharmaceutical supply chain and supporting healthcare delivery.
The visit highlighted the strategic importance of efficient medicine procurement, storage and distribution in ensuring that public health institutions have access to essential medicines and medical supplies,” NatPharm added.
NatPharm said its operations remain vital to the functioning of Zimbabwe’s healthcare system, serving as a key link between suppliers and health facilities across the country.
“The critical role NatPharm plays in strengthening Zimbabwe’s pharmaceutical supply chain and supporting healthcare delivery” was recognised during the tour, the company said.
The warehouse inspection provided an opportunity to showcase the organisation’s capacity to manage and distribute medicines and health commodities to hospitals and clinics nationwide. NatPharm said its facilities are designed to ensure that medicines are stored under appropriate conditions and delivered efficiently to healthcare institutions.
The visit comes as Zimbabwe continues implementing measures aimed at improving healthcare delivery, reducing medicine shortages and strengthening public health systems.
