Police confirm calm across the country

Zimbabwe ended Friday on a peaceful note, with the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirming that the security situation remained calm throughout the day despite calls by some groups for demonstrations on July 31.

In a statement, issued yesterday evening, the ZRP said the country had experienced a peaceful day, with no major disturbances reported.

“The ZRP confirms that the situation in the country has been peaceful throughout the day,” the police said.

The police encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any criminal conduct to the nearest police station or through the force’s dedicated reporting platforms.

“The public should feel free to report criminal acts through any nearest Police Station or National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631 or WhatsApp number 0712 800197,” the ZRP said.

Police maintained a visible presence in key urban centres throughout the day as part of routine security measures aimed at preserving law and order and ensuring the safety of members of the public.

Meanwhile, the ZRP has reiterated its commitment to protecting communities and responding swiftly to incidents requiring police intervention, urging citizens to continue using official communication channels to report crime and suspicious activities.
