Zimbabwean musician Jah Prayzah has postponed his wedding indefinitely, just days before he was due to tie the knot this Saturday.
The wedding was scheduled for Saturday but has now been postponed following the death of businessman Wicknell Chivayo, who was closely associated with the celebrations.
The postponement was announced through a wedding notice, with no new date given.
Chivayo and his wife, Lucy “Lulu” Muteke, were among six people who died in a helicopter crash in the Marondera area on Wednesday.
The businessman had been closely involved in the preparations for Jah Prayzah’s wedding and had announced plans for legendary musician Thomas “Mukanya” Mapfumo to perform at the event.
Mapfumo had travelled to Zimbabwe ahead of the planned wedding, which was expected to attract several prominent figures from the country’s entertainment and business circles.
The postponement comes as Zimbabwe continues to mourn Chivayo and those who died in the crash.
Jah Prayzah is yet to announce a new date for the wedding.
