Tanzanian President, Samia Suluhu Hassan, has expressed condolences following the death of Zimbabwean businessman, Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy Muteke and three other people in a helicopter crash in Marondera.
In a condolence message, President Samia said she was deeply saddened by the tragedy, describing Chivayo as a young and visionary entrepreneur who had touched the lives of many people.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of the United Republic of Tanzania,” President Samia conveyed her deepest condolences to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the Chivayo family, the families of all the victims and the people of Zimbabwe.
She said Zimbabwe and the wider African continent had lost a young entrepreneur whose life had made an impact on many people.
President Samia also prayed for the deceased, asking for their souls to rest in peace.
“May their souls rest in peace. Amen,” she said.
