President Emmerson Mnangagwa is scheduled to officially open the Third Session of the Tenth Parliament and deliver the State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the New Parliament Building today.
The address will take place at 12PM during a joint sitting of both the Senate and the Lower House of Assembly.
This is according to General Notice 2162 of 2025 which was issued by Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Tariro Gezi.
In accordance with Section 140(1) of the Constitution, the President will outline Government’s legislative agenda for the new parliamentary session. This will set the stage for key policy priorities and proposed laws to be discussed in the upcoming months.
President Mnangagwa will also provide an update on the country’s political, social, and economic situation, as mandated by Section 140(4) of the Constitution.
The address has attracted massive attention from the general Zimbabwean populace with citizens eagerly awaiting to hear how the President wants to steer the country into an auspicious future.
