The final two weekends of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season are set for an unprecedented relegation climax, with a massive chunk of the log fighting desperately to avoid the drop.
Highlanders and Chicken Inn seek outright victories on Saturday before they clash on the last day to determine their fate in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
The same goes for other giants Dynamos and Caps United, who need to collect maximum points at the weekend with two games to end of the season, with league debutants Scottland having already claimed the title last weekend.
Bosso, sitting on position 10 with 37 points, host Manica Diamonds (on the 12th spot, also with 37 points) at Barbourfields Stadium tomorrow.
The GameCocks, also with 37 points, just a rung behind Highlanders on the ladder, travel to Mhondoro, where they date Ngezi Platinum Stars tomorrow, needing nothing short of a win.
Bosso and Chicken Inn then clash in the Bulawayo derby in their last game of the season to seal their destiny.
Manica Diamonds have the final match back at Sakubva against Bikita Minerals (36 points) after their clash with Bosso today.
Highlanders have struggled for breath in the league, with three coaches having poorly run short tenures, in the season with Kelvin Kaindu replaced by his assistant Try Ncube, who in turn passed the baton to incumbent Pieter de Jongh.
It’s anotherr clash of the demotion-fighting sides in Harare this afternoon when Dynamos are away to Yadah at Ngoni Stadium, under Kaindu. By performance, Dynamos, also with 37 points on the 13th spot, stand a better chance of survival, with Kaindu yet to lose a match since he took over from Saul Chaminuka, manoeuvering the Glamour Boys from a long sojourn in the relegation zone. After the Miracle Boys, who are second from the bottom on the table with 34 points, DeMbare will host FC Platinum at Rufaro. Yadah have a tough one away to Simba Bhora in their last outing.
Caps United, with 39 points on position nine, and still not safe, host MWOS at Rufaro Stadium and finish of the season away to an already down and out Kwekwe United.
In other relegation battles today, Green Fuel (35 points) on position 15, are away to champions Scottland at Wadzanayi, while Triangle 34 points on the 16th spot, are home to Kwekwe United at Gibbo.
Green Fuel and Triangle clash in their last game of the season in Chisumbanje at the Green Fuel Arena.
Former Zifa technical director Wilson Mutekede, coach for Bikita Minerals, also fighting relegation, has intimated that the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season has been poor, judging by the fact more than half the teams in programme are fighting the dreaded chop to the end.
