Zimbabwe’s presence at the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Pattaya, Thailand, is growing stronger by the day, with national representative Lyshanda Moyas capturing international attention through her poise, cultural pride, and confident stage performances. With more than 100 contestants from across the world participating, the pageant has now reached a high-stakes phase marked by charity engagements, public appearances, and televised showcases ahead of the much-anticipated grand finale on November 21.
Moyas has embraced the demanding schedule with enthusiasm, taking part in photoshoots, rehearsals, media interactions, and the popular swimsuit fashion show held on Thursday. Her grace and charisma have already made her a standout competitor, with many Zimbabweans rallying behind her on social media and through voting platforms.
Reflecting on her experience so far, Moyas described the journey as enriching and inspiring.
“The experience thus far has been absolutely amazing. I have had the opportunity to share a home with people from 122 different countries with beautiful women, different cultures, learning from each other, and experiencing the amazing Thai culture and Thai food,” she said.
She also expressed heartfelt appreciation to her supporters back home.
“My beautiful family, the swimwear fashion show was amazing. We have a lot more in store for you. We have rehearsals coming up, preliminaries, and our traditional costume showcase. I am so excited. Thank you for all the love and support. To cast your votes, you can use the Miss Universe application, or check my social pages for instructions,” she added.
Meanwhile, the final Zimbabwean delegation with members of the Miss Universe Zimbabwe board is expected to arrive in Thailand on Monday to lend in-person support to the queen. Their presence comes at a strategic moment, as global audiences increasingly vote online to boost their favourite contestants. Zimbabwe currently sits in 16th place in the people’s choice rankings, with voting set to close on November 20.
As the country continues to advance its engagement and re-engagement agenda on international platforms, Moyas’ participation offers a valuable opportunity to spotlight Zimbabwe’s culture, talent, and global relevance. Her performance in Thailand not only showcases beauty and elegance but also positions Zimbabwe proudly on the world stage.
