No Holidays for Service Delivery: Hon. Musa Ncube

While many will retreat to family gatherings during the Christmas and New Year holidays, Tsholotsho South legislator Hon. Musa Ncube chose a different path, one defined by duty, presence, and relentless service to her constituency.

Her December diary reads less like a festive break and more like a continuation of the hands on leadership style that has come to define Second Republic officials.

Beginning on December 20, Hon Ncube leads a constituency evaluation and monitoring meeting, a deliberate move aimed at taking stock of ongoing programmes and identifying gaps that still demand attention.

Rather than postponing accountability to the new year, she prioritises performance reviews even as the holiday season approaches, reinforcing a culture of results driven governance. The meeting shall also assess service delivery at constituency level, ensuring that development interventions remain aligned with community needs.

The meeting shall also discuss the National Development Strategy (NDS2) as well as Resolutions passed by ZANU PF at its recent Mutare conference.

On December 23, she will visit Tsholotsho Correctional Services, a gesture that underlines her belief that development discourse must include all segments of society, including those often forgotten.

The visit will focus on welfare issues, rehabilitation, and community reintegration, while also bringing seasonal goodwill to inmates and officers. Groceries and food hampers will be donated as part of efforts to spread hope during the festive period.

Christmas Day itself will not be spent in private celebration. Instead, Hon Ncube will be at Tsholotsho Hospital on December 25, sharing the day with patients, health workers, and families facing illness during a period traditionally associated with joy. The visit is dedicated to celebrating mothers that give birth on Christmas Day, acknowledging their resilience and the symbolic gift of new life.

Hon Ncube will donate groceries and food hampers to the maternity ward and other departments, extending tangible support to both patients and frontline staff.

The year will close on December 31 with a fundraising programme for Nkonzo Primary School, one of the most remote and marginalised schools in the constituency. The initiative seeks to mobilize resources to improve learning conditions for pupils who continue to face challenges linked to distance, poverty, and limited infrastructure. Food hampers will also be distributed at the function, ensuring that community members are supported as the year ends.

Commenting on her packed festive programme, Hon Ncube said her commitment to duty outweighs personal comfort. “Leadership is not seasonal. My responsibility is to the people who entrusted me with this office. I will rest when there is visible progress in every corner of the constituency,” she said. She stressed that choosing to be with her people during the holidays is a conscious sacrifice driven by purpose, not obligation.

She further noted that her work ethic is inspired by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s mantra of leaving no place behind. Hon Ncube praised the President for working tirelessly and commissioning development projects across the country on an almost daily basis. She said his pace and consistency set the standard she endeavours to emulate at constituency level.

“The President leads from the front. As leaders under the Second Republic, we are expected to match that energy on the ground,” she stated.

Hon Ncube also draws inspiration from the First Lady, Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa, whose philanthropic work she described as a benchmark in public service.

She said the First Lady’s focus on the needy has motivated her to prioritise hospitals, clinics, and very remote schools.

According to Hon Ncube, development must be compassionate and inclusive, reaching those who are often excluded from mainstream support systems.

As part of this commitment, Hon. Ncube called upon well wishers, corporates, churches, and development partners to support the Nkonzo Primary School fundraising programme. She urged all those willing to assist to come through with donations that may help uplift learners and ensure that no child is left behind.

As the year draws to a close, Hon Musa Ncube’s December programme stands as a clear reflection of the Second Republic’s governance ethos, visible leadership, community centred service, and an unwavering commitment to leaving no place and no one behind.
